seam ripping and stuffing coming outI bought these in October and these are my second pair, first pair loved, this pair the seam just started ripping and now the stuffing is coming out. I haven't used them enough for that to be happening. I am very disappointed because I did my research and these were voted highly by other consumers. Maybe I got a bad pair but now I need to buy another pair of gloves and I don't want to have this happen again. 1Coming undone already?They're comfortable with hand wraps on, properly ventilated, good cushioning too, they definitely protect my knuckles. I'm glad I bought these. BUT, the lining inside has started to come undone and i've only been using them for about a month maybe 3 times a week....so it really shouldn't be coming undone yet. 4These gloves suck.Do not buy these gloves. I bought these since it was time for a new pair of gloves. I do boxing and kickboxing 3-4 times a week two hours each session. I literally had these gloves one week and the stuffing is falling out of them and the stitching is coming out. I had stuffing all over the inside of my gym bag after my last class with these garbage gloves. I don't know if these are knock-offs because Venum is usually a good brand, but holy crap don't waste your money on these. Luckily I'm returning these today with the return label I was provided by Amazon. The search for gloves continues! 1They may change the way you work the bag... In a good way!I've recently added a heavy bag routine to my workout and I was using the Everlast gloves that were included with my bag. Let me say this, there's a reason those gloves come "free" with the bag, it's because they absolutely suck. I didn't realize this until I picked up a pair of these beauties. I'll be honest, I picked these up because they were cheaper than a comparable pair of Everlast and WAY cheaper than the Title brand that my friends recommended, no disrespect to the pricier gloves, but I just didn't need them for 2-3 bag sessions a week... The Venum gloves have ample wrist support and fantastic shock absorption. I picked up my 14-ounce pair for around $48 bucks and I'll be honest I was pretty leery given how my hand felt after a 45 minute session with the bag in my old gloves from an Everlast brand that I "knew", these gloves have honestly changed how I work the bag. I can now hit the bag harder without fear of my wrist support not being there.The 14-ounce gloves fit me like a... well... glove. I'm 5'10" and about 165 lbs and I'd say my hands are on the larger side of "medium"... or the smaller side of "large" figures if you're a half empty or half full kind of person I guess.Just a few maintenance tips that I've picked up over the past few months of use:1. When you finish spray down the inside with a bit of Lysol (or knock-off) disinfectant2. Next stuff in a bit of newspaper to allow airflow to move through the gloves3. Don't stuff them into a nasty gym bag, let them air out in your garage or basement4. If you really want them to smell fresh you can go out and pick up a cheap bag of hamster cedar bedding, stuff two clean gym socks with the bedding, tie them off and then insert like the newspaper up there in step 2. That's a poor man's/woman's glove deodorizer right there (and what I use...)Cheers! 5mine werent that greatIve been doing mma/kickboxing/boxing for a long time and have gone through lots of gloves and gear. I ordered a pair of these because ive worn other peoples venum gloves and i liked them. I was very unimpressed with MY SPECIFIC pair of gloves that i received. The padding on them was very uneven and didnt have the new tight glove feeling that we all love with a new pair of gloves. With all that being said, I know that this company makes quality stuff and i do think this is a quality product, but since this is a review of my experince i had to give it 2 stars because my gloves were very poorly padded and made. I understand thats just what happens with any sort of manufacturing. Sometimes bad stuff just slips through. I just donated my gloves to the gym and got something else. 2SAVE YOUR MONEYI got these gloves and they came with rips and holes. I called and asked if I could return or replace them and I was told I couldn't. So I decided I would just try and make them work. After hitting the heavy bag for about 20 minutes the pictures show what they look like. I'm not here to tell you how to spend your money but I am here to tell you to save it. These things suck and customer service is even worse. 1Disappointed. I spend the extra money on what I ...Disappointed. I spend the extra money on what I thought was a quality pair of gloves and after use during MMA classes 2-3 days a week the inside lining is torn. I had used them for about 4 months before this happened. I retired my cheap pair that I had used for many years and were still in great condition but developed the usual odor. Venum's may look nice on the outside, but they do not hold up like they should. 1They are very comfortable and the velcro still holdsPros: I've been using these about twice a week for about a year now and they're still going strong. They are very comfortable and the velcro still holds. I wouldn't recommend velcro for competitions, but for the fitness classes and occasional sparring these are really great gloves. I keep them stored in a bag and often in my car. There is no discernible smell or signs of distress. I'm very happy with this purchase.Cons: If you don't keep your hands up, your opponent will punch you in the face.Edit: 18 months later. I'm up to using them four times a week. After I use them, I put a thing in the inside to mitigate the smell and I've never had a problem. They frequently live in a bag in my car. Only just now is the velcro starting to have some trouble and no other part of the gloves are anything less than perfect. 5Top of the line for beginnersHave been training in martial arts for a little over ten years now so my review will be based off of what i already know. These gloves are not leather, which means they won't need as much care as real leather, water (sweat) won't damage them, don't stink (as quickly), aren't as high quality (leather is tough!) as "the real deal". Would not recommend if looking for a single pair for your whole career, HOWEVER, for someone who doesn't train every day/ most days these are perfect for casual boxing. Threw these bad boys on and punched the heavy bag for over 2 hours and the results are impressive. Not a single scratch was made to the glove. Keep in mind, every glove has a breaking point, but for the price on these venum challengers 2.0 I wasn't expecting them to pack a punch (pun intended). If i were to recommend these, my target audience would have to be beginners- intermediate fighters and/or casual gym goers. 4Very disappointed with this purchaseThese gloves are not worth the money. I've had them for a few weeks and padding is already breaking down and stitching coming undone inside the glove. Padding flies out with every punch. Definitely not worth the money. Very disappointed with this purchase. 1
