Zipper broke before I even took it campingThe sleeping bag is very warm, as advertised. However- after using it for 1 single winter (not even camping- using it in my bed cause my house has poor insulation) the zipper came off the track. So, I tried to put it back on the track as anybody would- and it broke apart because it is super cheap casted pot metal. So this basically is just a big blanket now, not a sleeping bag that zips up. All they had to do is put a good brass zipper on it, perhaps a YKK made zipper. Wish I would have bought a different bag that would have lasted longer. 1I like it - soft and warm and fluffy.I have started camping on my own this year, the first time being when I drove to Kentucky for the total eclipse. The first sleeping bag I ordered was very nice, but just not wide enough for a side sleeper with a leg pulled up. So, before going to Northern Michigan to photograph stars in October, I ordered this. The weather was unseasonably warm, but I'm a cold person and had to put on warm socks and another layer. The bag was very comfy, but I toss and turn a lot and the soft flannel interior did drag with my clothes. Really not a big deal, though. I still would've liked a little more room (even though I'm only 5'4" and #128), but it was really a nice bag. Takes some effort getting it back in its bag, but it seems to be good quality for a good price. 5Rough it in luxuryI'm almost too picky to be camping. I don't want to be cold. I don't want to be uncomfortable. I can get claustrophobic in tight spaces.This bag makes me a happy camper.1) Its super comfortable. Very plush. The back top is padded enough to serve as a pillow.2) Its roomy. I'm 6'1" 200lbs and I have enough space to be comfortable and move around.3) Its warm. Unlike other bags, this one didn't just barely save me from freezing to death, it kept me perfectly comfortable in cold conditions.Also I found that it wasn't very hard to get back into the bag. You DO have to take your time rolling it up efficiently.Before you buy this though, keep in mind this is a big heavy bag probably not best for packing 20 miles into the bush or up the side of a mountain. If you're not going too far from your car or camper, though, its perfect.Followup, I've now had this bag outside on 0 degrees F with no tent and was completely toasty warm. 0 is pretty darn cold, I had to cover my head and make a little breathing tunnel. The bag was big enough to cover me head to toe, 5Very warm and very nice sleeping bag!I went winter camping when it was -31. I was very comfortable in this bag. More than enough room to store my boots in the bag so they wouldn't freeze up. Very warm and very comfortable sleeping bag. Nice compression sack too. I highly recommend this. 5Warm, cozy, large, great quality.I used to have one of those $250 cold weather mummy bags bought at REI. I hated it that bag, it was so uncomfortable, I'd wake up in the middle of the night and want to scream because I was cold with a slick, slippery nylon bag twisted around me like I was wrapped in saran wrap.I love this sleeping bag, it's very warm and cozy; nice and large. The quality is outstanding. I've used this sleeping bag for 3 years and counting. I do a lot of off-season, cold weather and winter camping. I'm more comfortable in this sleeping bag than I am at home in my own bed when it's cold outside. (I also use a TETON XXL cot and a 4" high density foam pad.) It is the warmest bag I've ever owned. If it's above 45F, I usually end up opening it up to let cold air in because it is really, really warm and I have a naturally high body temperature.It's really large, I don't feel like I'm in a sleeping bag inside of it. And I don't slide around in it like those slippery bags, and it doesn't twist up around your body. It's got a "hood" that you can drawstring closed for really cold nights. I have never, every been cold in this bag, and I've camped at -5F. I don't know if it's truly warm at -25F, but I literally would bet my life on it that it is still warm inside of it when the outside temp is -25F. (In case you don't know, the key to staying warm in a sleeping bag is to NOT wear layers of clothing. Just wearing your long john underwear. Unless you have a crappy sleeping bag... then you're going to be miserable no matter what you wear.)I haven't washed it yet, from what I understand you can hand wash and air dry, but check the TETON website to be sure. Use a sleeping bag liner (can make your own out of a cotton sheet) to keep it from getting dirty.I do not use this sleeping bag in the summer, it's too warm. I have a lightweight summer bag for summer camping. 5Very good bag but a couple things you should know. Edit: Teton Sports has great customer service. Read Edit below.I looked for a long time and tried a couple other bags before I settled on this one. Amazon shipped the wrong one (the green one when I ordered gray with the red liner) so I can review both the green and gray bags, they are somewhat different. I got the green one first and didn't like the liner much. It is not "brushed cotton" at all. It's a slick polyester common in many bags and not "brushed" one bit. However it is a very warm bag. I packed it up and shipped it back four days after I got it. I had filled out the return tag the day after I got it and the gray one was sitting on my doorstep the same day I shipped the other one back.The liner on the gray one isn't "brushed cotton" either but it is better feeling on the skin than the liner on the green bag. It is, again, polyester and the material has zero brushing.Still this one is a very good bag. I dislike mummy bags, they're just too restrictive, but this one fits me very well and has a good amount of room (I'm 5'10" and 170lbs). Also this one admits the temperature rating is for survival; add 30 degrees for comfort.One word of warning though, the tag prohibits machine washing and drying. Cleaning, both washing AND drying MUST be done by hand or the warranty (lifetime) is voided. This is the only reason it gets four stars instead of five. Most I've looked at allow washing and drying in large commercial machines and I'm sure after a couple years I'll go that route anyway, I just can't see how this bag is any weaker than any other but I won't use hot water (gentle cycle) and only dry on the air only setting (no heat). This is the way most camping websites suggest (not Teton's, they don't like them being washed at all) and the way I've done it for decades with other bags.Edit: The first time I used this bag the liner color bled badly onto my clothes turning them a bright pink. I sent an E-mail to Teton and so far they've been very responsive asking information on which bag it was and how it was used. They've promised to make it right. I washed the bag according to the directions on the tag (what a pain, it sucks up huge amounts of water and doesn't like giving it up) but have yet to see if it solves the problem. More on that when I use it again, probably in a few days. They seem to be sold out of this particular bag at the monent but if you want one of these you might want to try the green one, it has a different liner.Three days later: The color continued to bleeed after washing but not as bad. Teton Sports offered a bag liner which I turned down; I don't like getting wrapped up in them. They then offered a brand new bag, the green one I mentioned above, for free and they allowed me to keep the gray one. THAT IS GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!. I will machine wash the gray one and see if it solves the bleeding problem even though it will void the warranty. There's no reason it should harm the bag and if it works to stop the bleeding I'll have two good bags. 4HEAVENLY COMFORTI wanted to try this sleeping bag out before I wrote my review I have used this item in windy -10 degree Fahrenheit weather sleeping close to the river and I felt very warm I was able to sleep good & comfy I have used it in the rain and the rain did not penetrate inside of this bag I also like the length of this bag I'm able to enclose my entire body inside of this bag from the top of my head to the bottom of my feet and also I like the double zipper whereby I can zip this bag close while being inside of it if you're looking for a good quality durable and most importantly warm sleeping bag then I recommend that you go to amazon.com and buy this sleeping bag. 5Two Don't Zip Together Well - I have 3 Sets (L, XL, and XXL)I hate to give Teton Sports a bad review. I'm generally a fan of their gear. Decent quality. Warm. Good price. I own 8 of their sleeping bags (Two Celsius L, two Celsius XL, two older Celsius cotton XXL, a mummy bag, and Mammoth). Our oldest set (14 years old) have been used and abused and they are still in create condition. Also had good luck with their cheap backpacks for scouts.However, I have really struggled getting sleeping bags that zip together well. I bought 2 XXL locally. I got home and found one was 3 inches longer than the other. Sportmans Warehouse exchanged one of them. I tested them in the store and found a set that matched.My two L bags (a little to small for me at 5' 8") I bought 3 years apart and they aren't close to being the same size, so they don't zip together well. I assumed they must have changed the model in that 3 year period (even though the model numbers are the same).The most recent set (a pair if XL) I bought on Amazon in 2016. Again, when they zip together they aren't even close to matching. One is 2+ inches longer. The sleeping bags are meant velcro together at the top, but this doesn't work for my Large or XL sets because of the size difference. See my photo.So, out of 3 sets I've bought, not one of them zipped together well. So, if you are going to buy these and you want them to zip together, buy them in store and not online. Test them zipping together before you leave the store.I also didn't have a good experience with customer service. I called and left a message. Received a return call the next day from a US employee (great). They guy was really nice and said he should be able to get me a set that match (great). I've been exchanging texts with him for almost 3 weeks. He keeps saying he will check the warehouse tomorrow. Been told that for 22 days. I give up. I'll return to Amazon.UPDATE: I contacted Teton Sports via their email support. Received a reply from Brittney. She was very helped me and resolved my issue with a replacement. I've updated my review to 4 stars to reflect the better customer support. Also, the more I think about it 2 stars isn't really fair. These sleeping bags are my goto sleeping bags for non-backpacking. However, if zipping two bags together is important to you, I stick by my recommendation to buy these locally and test they zip together well before leaving the store. 4and very comfortable. This product went beyond my expectationsQuality, reliability, and very comfortable. This product went beyond my expectations, and is a true cold weather bag. It met all of the requirements that it promised, and keeps me warm every night of the week. I drive trucks in the oil fields of North Dakota, and it has been dipping below 0 every night this week. I used this bag the first night that it came, very quickly I might add, and it kept me warm and cozy, even though I could have had the truck running. I shut all the power off in the truck, as a test, and had no chills at all in -5 weather. Excellent product, and I recommend it highly. 5Incredible sleeping bag for the money!! WARM!!I purchased two of these, one for my husband and one for my son. They are using them on Boy Scout campouts. They ve used them each of the last three months in temperatures ranging from single digits to 50 degrees F in scout tents. Best money I ve ever spent!! They used to bundle/layer up every campout to figure out some way to keep warm on the winter campouts, but no longer. This last weekend, it got down to the low 30 s, and My husband woke up in the night and had to remove his socks and sweatshirt because He was too warm. Slept like a baby the rest of the night. Talked to other leaders and scouts the next morning and they all said their feet got a little cold during the night. I would recommend anyone doing cold weather camping should invest in one of these. For the money, an amazing sleeping bag with plenty of room for those who are not a big fan of the mummy bags.He s 6 2 - 190lbs and fits in it with no problem.Only warning is that it doesn t go in the stuff bag without a little work because it s so big and fluffy. It will go, it just takes a bit. My 13 yr old son has no problem getting it back in the bag. 5
