    Not for your slim waisted kid.Way too wide in the waist. My nine year old is tall and lean, these were just way too big in the waist. Even with the drawstring. I'd probably recommend these for wider waisted kids, but not for any slim waisted kids. Material was nice and soft. Length was good for a taller 9yr old. 2Awesome pants!My son is 5'1 and weighs 87 pounds, tall and skinny. We ordered him a size medium in these, they fit perfectly right now, but I'm not sure they'll survive a wash (fit wise) he absolutely loves them, said they're the most comfortable pants ever, and he's very picky with clothing texture. So I'm willing to keep sizing up because these are great quality, and he loves them. 5The small fit nicely, not too small not too baggyMy son loves these sweats!! He says they are comfy and soft. I saw other comments so I ordered a small even though my son is 9 1/2, 75lbs and usually wears a Medium. The small fit nicely, not too small not too baggy. Can't beat this price for nice looking and comfy sweats! I will definitely be ordering again! 5Thick and cozyJust received the sweats today. Bought size small for my 8 1/2 year old. He is 66 pounds and around 4 feet tall. I normally buy him size 10 at old navy, and these seem comparable if not a bit bigger than the average size 10? They are a bit big, but thanks to the functional drawstring and ankle band, he is happy (without the drawstring, they would be falling down) The material is thicker than i expected and there are front and back pockets (one pocket in back) I'm back to buy a couple more :) great deal.Update: after almost two years of use, these sweats are still in good shape! My son hasn't grown much and they still fit. They do not shrink in the dryer and haven't gotten any holes. Only negative is they pill in the wash. Every 3 or 4 washes, I need to use a battery powered defuzzer, and that takes care of the problem. Otherwise, they get ugly looking :/ pretty sturdy pants! 5Eh....This review is being written by the mom in this situation :) The pants were very soft and comfortable HOWEVER once you wash them they will pill up like nobody's business. I'll use the fabric shaver on them so our son can continue to wear them. He really likes them but like I said, if I had known how much pilling would occur I would have looked for another brand. We washed them with soft tee shirts and other sweats, so they did not get roughed up by jeans or get washed with towels that the pilling should have happened. Overall they are ok, if you have time on your hands to use your handy little fabric shaver and need an excuse to bust it out, then buy these sweats! Otherwise, keep looking. 3Don t waste your money.I ordered based off of their sizing chart for their clothes and my son is 6 and in 7/8s. So I ordered a big kids size 8 since little boys only went up to 7s. The size 8s fit my 14 year old daughter who s 5 4 122lb. Figured hey for the price I ll order a pair for me and given I m taller I went next size up which was a big boys 10/12. The 10/12s arrived today and were several inches SMALLER then the size 8s but wider. They definitely have their sizing way off and don t know what they heck they are doing. And there s no way given I ordered twice on two different days that both times they were this far off of their sizing charts. And they definitely need to place the little boys and big boys clothing properly bc their sizing chart showed for boys 8 being 7-8 year old. I m 5 7 and 120 lbs and they were able to fit me. Very disappointed. They need to advertise these in the petite section for adults not children. 1Soft and ComfyGreat quality.. Good fit.. I bought a size large.. My son is 11 yrs old and 105 lbs and about 4'10 ..they were a little baggy but I'm sure they will draw up in the dryer 5Perfect Fit Sweats for My SonI like the fit of these on my son. The quality of the material is good. My son said he really likes how soft they are inside. They have pockets in the front. He really liked the colors these came in (I bought 5 of these). I like that the bottom of the sweats don't have the bunched up elastic. I would definitely buy again. 5Great quality but runs bigMy son likes these pants and it's also mom approved. I took the advice of other reviewers and ordered a size smaller and it fit my slender son with room to spare. I ordered a small for my size 10 slim son. The small fit but was still a little loose, but comfortable loose not fall off loose. I would definitely order these again!Update: these sweats were extremely comfortable for my boys on a plane ride and warm for 30-40 degree weather. Unfortunately after a single wash, the sweats notably pilled. I am attaching a photo so you can see how it looks. I'd still let them wear this in this condition but after couple more washes I'm not so sure it will look presentable. Thus, I'm downgrading the rating to 3 stars... because of this issue. 3Soft, warm, cozy.These are great everyday sweatpants although they run large relative to the size chart provided by Amazon. I purchased these for my somewhat picky 11 year old son. He gave them a thumbs down based on the style and wouldn't even try them on. I kept them because the price was great and I knew there'd come a day when he just wanted some soft fuzzy warm pants. Sure enough he wore them last weekend and loved how they felt but they are quite large on him. For grins I slipped them on today and to my surprise they fit me just like my Gap joggers. I am in love with these for myself! The boys large looks like a slim fit ankle jogger on me. I'm 5'7", 140 pounds, apple shaped with a 30.5" waist and slim legs. He's 5.3", 105 pounds and normally wears a 12 slim. I'm going to get him a pair of medium and another pair of large for myself.Update: The mediums fit my son perfectly. Use the size noted on the product name, not the size chart provided by amazon. 5
