Big hit!!!Took our girls out today as soon as it came in. The basket went together very fast and it seems well made. Together our dogs weigh only 10 pounds. They were already used to riding in a booster seat in the car so no training was necessary. The straps went on quick and were easily adjusted to fit on the handle bars. It seems very universal no matter what kind of handle bars you have. The pockets held water bottle, phone, glasses, bags, leashes, and of course the rain jacket with room for more. The brace on the bottom worked with no problems, but we will probably secure it with zip ties or a strap to the neck for longer and maybe more bumpy rides. The girls loved it and so did everyone that we passed!ONE YEAR LATER AND WE STILL LOVE IT! 5The 2 front zipper pockets are great, the smaller one houses the rain cover and ...My baby loves it! I do all the work and he just kicks back. It does add weight to your front tire so, don't be shocked when it looks a little low even at full air capacity. I do wish it had a head cover but that would add some vision obstruction. I have plenty of space between my tire and the bottom of the basket. The 2 front zipper pockets are great, the smaller one houses the rain cover and the lower one fits a bottle of water, for me, my phone, keys, wallet and still room for another item. The side pockets are great for a traveling bottle water for the puppy and a leash. I did add an inexpensive chair cushion since he likes to lean into the basket. 5Never Leave Home Without ItAdmittedly, I had a lot of misgivings before buying this product. I looked at a lot of comparable baskets and read a bunch of reviews before finally pulling the trigger on this particular dog basket. I wish I wouldn't have waited so long - this thing is so incredibly worth it.Being able to take my little fur baby with me is an incredible motivator to get out for a ride. Watching everyone we pass crack a smile at Jasper riding out front sincerely enriches my day.Jasper is a ~15 lb shih tzu mix and he fits very comfortably in the basket. We've gone on rides as long 40 miles (mostly around 10-20 miles) and he lllllloves it. Whenever he sees me pull my bike out, he jumps up at the basket, ready for a ride.I've made some modifications over the past couple years such as:I cut out the connected rain guard from the front pocket. We tried it once when we got caught in a rain storm, and I'm sure it would work if your dog sat moderately still, but our dog likes to move around a bit which didn't work well with the rain guard.I always had to ziptie the bottom metal bracket piece to the headtube of my bike which worked pretty well, and I'm sure it would still be working, but I just didn't like the idea of relying on the ziptie so heavily. I purchased a front rack for my bike and I mounted the basket to the front rack which works so much better in my opinion. 5Needs to be improved to be GREAT. I like the basket but you will need to make adjustments.I've been using this basket for my 12 lb Norwich Terrier. My bike has 2600 miles on it and my dog has been in his basket at least half of those miles. There were issues with the basket when I first used; along with problems occurring with extended use.PROS:My dog loves going on our bike rides in this basket.The harness clip in the basket is adjustable. Note: use a harness on your dog.Canvas material is great.CONS:The two straps that rest on handlebars are wobbly which makes the basket wobble. My bike does not have straight handlebars; therefore the straps slide with the curves of the handlebar.The straps that go across the top of the basket limit the size of the basket.The support device that holds the basket up and rests against the bike is flimsy. Needs to be able to provide better/solid support of the basket.The canvas that is sown on the bottom of the basket to secure the above noted support is worthless. The sewing of the strap broke with very little use. Once the strap broke, I had,to use zip-ties and poked holes in the bottom of the basket to provide a loop so I could secure the support device.The water bottle holder is at such an angle that my water bottle falls out when riding. Therefore I don't use it. 3LOVE this! When the weather is good I use ...LOVE this! When the weather is good I use this every weekend with my two dogs. They both fit in the basket together (10lbs each) and enjoy being taken out for rides. 5Works great!I love this basket! My dog weighs 16 pounds and was able to lay and sit in the basket. He loved it! ! He is a Pekingese and Eskimo mix and is on the longer end of dogs his weight and he still fit great. 5Best basketMy 17lbs dog sits sideways in it! It's great! Use the clip the latch onto collar, he tried to jump out one time but is now used to it! We have so much fun together!!!! 5Miles of SmilesThis basket is hilarious and amazing! My just over 13# Yorkie Mix fits right inside. I followed other commenters advice and got her used to it on the floor of our front room with treats, toys and praise. After a couple days of that silliness, I buckled her in with her harness on and went for a little walk. She didn't complain, so we went on our first ride. Fantastic! On that first ride she did try to jump out when a squirrel crossed our path. Most of her body was outside the basket, but I quickly stopped and popped her back inside. For our succeeding rides, I've tightened both her harness and the doggie seat belt. There is NO WAY she can jump around now. We ride back and forth to the dog park (about 5 miles round trip) and we pass squirrels, bunnies, birds and other dogs with no attempt at escape. I cannot tell you how happy people are when they see us pedaling along. It's hilarious! Anyway, lots of fun, safe for pup, easy to use, easy to ride/handle bike and I get to avoid driving shorter distances with my pup! She looks a little miserable in this pic, but she honestly loves it! 5more thought could have been put into the designIt is made of pretty durable material and seems to be well-constructed. But because it comes flat in the box and all you have to do to assemble it is to close the diagonal zipper on the bottom of the bag, it is not as sturdy as I would want it to be. As you're riding the bike and barely making turns, the basket sways from side to side causing it to go from being a square shape to a rhombus shape, and back to a square shape. I'll be designing my own make-shift attachments in order to keep the four corners at a sturdy 90 degree angles at all times.I do also wish there was a better design to attach the basket to the bike in a more secure way as well. It comes with adjustable straps which wrap around the handle bars. I wish the adjustable part of the strap were metal or at least had teeth on the plastic to keep the straps from loosening. It comes with a metal "frame" which only adds support to the middle three inches on the basket, which then balances on to the middle tube of your bike. I didn't quite feel safe about this piece staying balanced/centered, so I zip-tied the metal piece to my bike to keep it from sliding off. I wish the metal support on the bottom supported more of the bottom, instead of just the middle three inches.Overall, I'm pleased enough with it to keep it. But I'll be designing some additional attachments for the basket to further secure it to my bike as far as sturdiness and safety goes. 3Sturdy and Perfect Basket for my dog!I have a 6 month old maltipoo who loves going everywhere with me, and I wanted to bring him with me on bike rides around the neighborhood. After looking around at various brands, I decided on this one because it had the best reviews and looked the sturdiest. I'm glad I chose this one as it works perfectly. It has a metal brace in the bottom of the basket that rests on the bike's fork. This prevents the basket from scraping the tire. The basket attaches to the handlebars via buckle straps. I had to slightly move my bike cables out of the way for the straps, but no big deal. Definitely measure your bike and compare to the product's measurements. I have a mountain bike (adult small frame, 26" wheels) with plenty of room for the basket, but smaller bikes may not be able to accommodate this basket as it's fairly large.My dog loves riding in this basket! He loves having me do all the work of riding while he relaxes :) He is almost 12 lbs and about 16-17" long and fits fine. Since his body is so long, he sits sideways in the basket, but he is very comfortable and has room to move around. He is still growing, so I'll update the review if he ends up outgrowing the basket, but for now he has enough space to fit comfortably and isn't too heavy for it.The side pockets are perfect for holding his leash and a bottle of water. I use the front pocket to store the bike lock. The top pocket holds the rain cover, which I haven't had a chance to test out and probably won't use. The basket also has two strap handles in case you want to carry your dog around off the bike.Both my dog and I are very happy with this basket! It's sturdy and durable and should last a very long time!UPDATE 5/13/13: My dog is now 17 lbs, and this basket is holding up just fine! Size-wise my dog barely fits in the basket now (about 13" tall and about 16" from neck to rear end), but he still insists on frequent bike rides! This basket is still going strong and looks as good as new nearly a year later. 5
