Excellent quality pitching backstop and hitting practice netExcellent and sturdy baseball practice net. I live in a neighborhood with limited space, so hitting plastic practice balls is about the best I can do for hitting practice with my son. Hitting off a tee into this net has been a huge help. Also, practicing pitching (with the net behind me as I play catcher) has been a big help, too (preventing errant or outside-of-the-strike-zone throws from hitting my next door neighbor's property). Rukket did a great job designing this net -- it's easy to set up and the white strike zone is very helpful, too. Note that after mounting the first (of two) vertical poles (with the pole inserted through the net's sleeve), you'll need to use some force to get the second vertical pole set up. I suggest sliding the net's sleeve through the second vertical pole first...before attempting to mount the second vertical pole into the base bracket hole. There are some great videos available to walk you through the set up. Thanks Rukket! Great quality practice backstop net. 5Better than playing CatcherMy 13-yr old pitches ~60 mph and, since my husband doesn't have a full set of catcher's gear, this is exactly what we needed. I saw other nets for about $200-250 that looked great, but I didn't want to spend that much money. I also wanted the 7x7 from Rukket - but didn't want to wait for the 2-month backorder. This 5x5 was easy to set up (took about 10 min) and is easy enough to move around in the yard - which we had to do. The 1st day we had it up, my son threw a wild pitch, missed the net entirely, and hit the neighbors a/c unit. We've since repositioned the net and put it under a tent with additional netting. (more $ but I think we would have had the same problem with those more expensive nets which are about the same size.) I also don't think a 7x7 would be able to keep all the balls in our yard.I'm not sure what a 'fold-up design' is; nothing folds. To bring this unit anywhere, the net has to come off and the bars need to be detached from each other (pop/push buttons). It's not something I want to setup/breakdown on a regular basis - I want my son to be able to practice in our yard.The constructions is sturdy enough and the netting serves it's purpose and catches the balls, I am able to see where the ball hits in the strike zone (most times), and I happy that my husband doesn't have to catch and my son can practice. Overall, I'm quite happy. 5No BrainerI purchased this product in 2016. Truth be told it did not hold up to the usage we gave it. I have 2 boys and a girl (who hits harder than the two boys) who pound balls into this net daily. After 7 months one of the parts failed. Considering the usage I would say this could be expected. I've given this product 5 stars because it is a good net but more so because when one of the parts failed. I contacted the company and not only did they replace the net they gave me a upgrade free of charge, they also did it within 3 days. Which absolutely blew me away. Their customer service cannot be matched and in my experience a product is only as good as the people who back it. Rest assure that you are buying from a company that stands behind their product and does exactly what they say they say their going to do. Even above and beyond. Setting up is super easy once you do it the first time. I had to watch the video tutorial on Rukket's website because I was afraid I would break the upright rods while bending them to get the second side in. But once you've done it, doing it over and over again is a snap. The quality is great, though for windy days we've had to weigh the legs down by two handy stone slabs I have laying around. I'm sure the included stakes work, but I haven't tried them. 5Customer Service non existent....We purchased this in April to help my son increase his hitting reps for little league. The net is easy to set up and tear down and serves it's purpose well. Unfortunately, after less than 3 months of moderate usage, the bottom connector of the right side frame broke. No problem right, should be covered by the warranty. 1. I tried calling the main Rukket number several times across three days, only for the calls to go to voicemail (which prompted that the voicemail box was full). 2. I then filled out the warranty information and attached the photos of where there was metal fatigue (to show the breakage). After 3 days, no response or acknowledgement. 3. I ended up emailing the main Rukket email contact and got a confirmation from them that the warranty information was received and that the replacement was processed and shipped. That was on July 9th. 4. I emailed 6 days ago (July 22nd) to follow-up to see if I can get a tracking number, but still no response.A product is only as good as the company that stands behind it. Reading through the reviews, customer service and warranty were two key reasons why we chose to go with Rukket vs the more renowned Bownet. It's unfortunate how difficult it is simply trying to get a response from Rukket...Because of the lack of customer service and the failure to stand behind their products, I do not recommend this product to others. 1Coach/Parent Approved!So far a great product. It tears down to a small bag which is nice for getting into any vehicle (not the case with all). It's quick and easy set up/tear down (better than the ones the league provides). Great compliment to practice as well; less time shagging=more time hitting. Lives in the garage (set up) all week so the kids can mash a few balls in exchange for some TV/ipad time ;-) . We'll be working on throwing this week. Will be great for working on a confident throw. At the little ages, catching is an issue so throwers often go easy. With the net, they can hum it in there. She pitches at around 50mph give or take. So she's pitching into it from probably 10-15 feet away. Its sole purpose is to protect the garage door from damage. It has easily succeeded in this goal and was a great purchase. The strike zone net, in normal conditions outside at proper pitching distance may be of use but it isn't in the garage.Pros:- Easy to put together- Great appearance- Holds up very well- LargeCons:- While I have no cons at this point, if anything, I think the red plastic side pieces that slide down the poles (you can see these in the picture - they have the writing on them) may eventually tear at some point. If they don't, thats awesome, but the quality doesn't seem all that great on these. Again, not currently an issue but if I had to guess what was going to be the first this would be it.Regardless of the above 'con' I still recommend this. 5Best made target I have seen!After reading reviews on every target net I could find, I decided to go with this one. So many others looked good but it seemed the quality was lacking. My son wants to start pitching so I wanted something that would give him some visual queues as to the strike zone. I also like the net so the wilder pitches get stopped as well. This frame and net are extremely well made. The pieces fit together perfectly and it is easy to put together and take apart. Bonus for coming with a bag. I take this with me to team practice and let all the kids that are interested in pitching throw at it. It comes with some anchor spikes to hold the net steady and upright but so far I haven't needed these, even in the strong Oklahoma wind. It has never once even tipped back a little. The other nice thing is I have my son hit into it as well. He is 9 so he doesn't have tons of power but this net stops balls very well. 5Strong frame; Well balanced!!The product was extremely easy to assemble. Took me about 5 minutes the first time. I have an 11 and 7 year old that I had pitch into the net at about 48 ft without inserting the stakes. It surprised me that there was no tilting or rocking of the frame when the balls hit the net. I pitched in college so of course wanted to further test it myself. Same results! The frame is well built and balanced! The netting is made of strong durable material. I am extremely happy with this product and fully recommend for any age group. 5Exactly what I was looking forI looked all over for a hitting/pitching net for my son. Although there were others out there, none can match the quality of this net. The frame is very sturdy and lightweight. The assembly is super easy. The netting itself is very strong and sturdy, more like professional fishing nets rather than Walmart amateur specials. The entire construction is far beyond anything I had expected. I can envision seeing this type of hitting/pitching net on a professional field. Will certainly go to Rukket first when looking for more baseball equipment. 5
