    Lightweight, Sturdy Walking ShoeI needed a comfortable, waterproof shoe for an East European vacation and these are perfect for the task. The design of the shoe is narrow so it might not work for those with wide feet. The neoprene sole is shock absorbing and has some grip nubs molded into it to prevent slipping on wet surfaces. The sole is curved to give a comfortable rolling motion when walking. A well-built shoe, expertly designed.5Not wide enough and quality is a surpriseReturning these shoes for one major reason and one minor.The major reason is they are way too small. I bought a pair of Rockports in 2016 at size 10w and they were a good width, but a bit long. They ended up being comfy and I dealt with it because I was abroad. They came apart at the seams, but I got a good thousand miles out of them if not more. I'm a bit disappointed that they didn't last longer, because I have running shoes with more miles and are still solid.Anyway, these shoes are too thin. Way too thin. There is a significant width difference between these and my other Rockports, about 1/4-1/2 inch. Ten minutes in and my feet were cramping.The minor reason is that they are poor quality. They sound like paper, are thin, and have weird padding. The heel is padded and feels raised. The material is not something I've felt before and can describe, but honestly felt a bit like paper? The sole was also a surprise because it is a foamy, flip-flop like material. So, while I give most shoes a chance, I honestly don't think these shoes would last long. The quality is not as good as generic superstore shoes.I thought I'd give Rockport one more chance. They didn't impress me.1Super stiff and kind of narrow, but nice.I don't love the fit of these pre breaking them in. They're kind of stiff and don't really move with your foot, plus they're narrower than their labeling. So if you're like me and you have wider feet, they'll get that fat foot look where they're getting stretched out horizontally. And every time you take a step they'll slap you in the heel like a pair of flip flops, because the sole is hard and not segmented, so when it bends (on every step) it snaps back. It's pretty annoying.The shoes look nice and they don't look or feel cheap or crappy, I want to be clear about that. I got a lot of compliments in them. But I rarely wear them because it's just so annoying to, literally it feels like you're getting slapped in the feet all day long when you're walking around and when you're just standing, your feet are all flattened and you feel like you're squashing the shoes. I hope it's different for people with narrower feet, but if you've got wider feet I'd maybe recommend something else.3I Own Three Pairs in Different ColorsI bought my first pair (in Castlerock Grey) at a Rockport outlet store. I liked wearing the shoes so much that I looked to see if they were available in other colors. I discovered that Amazon had a nice selection in my size, and with very competitive pricing. I purchased one pair in Navy and another in Tan Embossed. All three pairs fit equally well on my feet. Why do I like these shoes so much that I would purchase three pairs? First, they are very comfortable. They give my feet good support. I like the colors and style, which are very versatile -- so, I can wear them for work, play, casual (business) dress-up, and so on. Most of all, I like them because they weigh so much less than almost all of my other shoes. This makes them ideal for traveling. One word of caution regarding Amazon pricing -- as seasoned customers know, Amazon's method for setting prices can be quite frustrating, as you watch prices rise or fall considerably over a short period, even daily. I happened to get a really good price for the Tan Embossed shoes when I purchased them on Amazon three months ago. As I write this review, I see that the price is roughly 45 percent higher than what I paid. But, I should add that Amazon's current price is still 23 percent below Rockport's full retail and about the same price as I paid for my first pair at an outlet store. Here's hoping you find them at a great price -- and, if you buy them, I guarantee you'll feel much "lighter on your feet."5Fits perfect..Fits perfect... my husband's foot is hard to fit. He loves Rockport Shoes and this shoe proves it. We have hunted for shoes for him for a couple of years. Most shoes fit in some fashion but not in ever sense and therefore he always has a problem with them. It doesn't seem to matter the brand or expense of the shoe. He use to buy Rockport and we could not find them. Finally found Rockport on Amazon and they fit perfect. My husband is very pleased.5I really like them.This shoe is very comfortable, looks good with jeans or khakis. I sometimes get tired of the look of sneakers and these give a little dressier look but are great for walking or hiking.5Like the shoeLike the shoe, but didn't realize that the top was not leather. Looks more like cheap nagahide ( vinyl like materal made 30 years ago to look like leather).bought 3 variations of this shoe although differnt models that looked very similar, but was surprised that the same size varied in fit. One model felt like a whole size larger but the tag siad it was the same. Has a nice wide toe box. A more cushioned insert would have made it better. However, plenty of room to install another with more cushioning. As others have pointed out the round laces are way too long. Fifty six inches to be exact. I tried a 45" lace & plan to order some grey 45" oval laces which will keep the shoes secure & still have room to double knot if you desire. Overall a stylish looking shoe at a reasonable price. Fit was spot-on for a size 10.4Uncomfortable to walk in.I wanted to like this pair of shoes. They look nice, and are very lightweight. The problem was when I tried them on and walked around the top of the shoe on both shoes would push down on top of my foot just behind my toes where the shoe bends. It was very uncomfortable, and not something that I wanted to roll the dice on whether it would go away in time as the shoes broke in. I opted to return them.3
