Customer Reviews

Perfect & entertainingPerfect & entertaining...very sturdy. My husband and friends who are avg of 190 tried it to confirm it was sturdy. Didn't budge! 5This is an excellent product when assembled correctly and the service and support ...This is an excellent product when assembled correctly and the service and support provided by the seller was pleasant and exceptional! The product arrived 2 days after ordering in a brown cardboard box (with MegaBrand image on the box, nothing else), it was very well packed so all the parts were individually wrapped and nothing was damaged.I put together the pole in about 30 min following the instruction video on YouTube (the instruction came with the pole was not that great, highly recommend to watch the video on YouTube several times before trying to put the pole together). However, I've noticed that the flange sitting below the ceiling dome was rubbing against the dome, which makes it unable to spin 360 ( I later suspect that I might have raised the adjustment bar too much to cause the issue, you don't need to over-raise the adjustment bar as the ceiling dome is very big and provides a lot of grip on the ceiling).I struggled on for another 3 hours trying to fix it and eventually gave up. That's when I reached out to seller to request a replacement flange. To my surprise, the seller replied almost instantly, and helped me troubleshoot the issue (this was over a weekend).Once we've determined there's nothing we can do to fix it, the seller sent me a replacement pole base. I was convinced it was the flange so seller sent me another replacement flange as well (base arrived on the following Tuesday via UPS, flange arrived in 4 days in First-class).Unfortunately, when I tried to take the pole down to replace the parts, the adjustment bar locking flange got stuck (again, from me tightening it too much and stripping out the threads) and no matter what I tried (wrench, wd40, etc), it won't budge. So I reached out to the seller again and got a replacement Pole A (in the meantime, I was able to wiggle the pole sideways enough to take it down completely). After I received Pole A a couple days later, I was finally able to replace the parts and knowing the pole enough to assemble it correctly (no over-tighten of any part, the pole is very sturdy and won't shift around or come down like we've all imagined. In fact, it took me so long to finally shift it sideways to be able to take it down. I throw my whole body (135 lbs) on it and yanked very hard to move it ever so slightly. I felt like the ceiling was more likely to come down before the pole give in...).Enough said, now the pole spins perfectly and the stationary mode is very sturdy (no wriggle room as some of other feedback indicated, I found that you need to twist the pole a bit while putting in the setscrews to make them go in all the way and locking the pole tight).I'm extremely happy with the pole, it is smooth and well coated. Of course I'm just a very beginner in pole tricks so I can't say how well it is for different poses. But I feel safe on the pole and beginner climbing, clasping, spinning all work very well. What's more impressive is the communication with the seller, we've been emailing back and forth daily over a two weeks period and their willingness to help is very comforting. They are willing to send me parts without haggling and at no cost to me, which is heavenly when I'm struggling and in doubt with the product.I would highly recommend this pole and seller to anyone. The cost/performance of the pole is excellent and the seller is just the cherry on top. This is a true purchase review from my heart and I'm planning on up my pole skill using this one for the years to come! Thank you MegaBrand! 5Sturdy pole for any level fitnessThe pole works great for me. Was easy to assemble, just make sure you use a stud finder to make sure it is placed correctly under a ceiling beam. I have mine on carpeting in a room with an 8.5' ceiling. Every month I tighten it just to be safe, but I've never felt that it was going to fall over or break. I do spins and inverts on it and always feel safe. You should invest in a floor mat as well if you're doing tricks! It spins really well and the screws in the bottom also work really well for keeping it on static mode. Pretty quick to change out the screws from static to spin mode. I have seen complaints about the seams of the pole but I can't feel mine with the exception of the seam at the at the cover on top.I've had mine for about 8 months and havent had an issue and I use it about 3x a week for at least a half hour at a time.I also use mine for yoga. I practice my headstands & handstands on it. Also great to hold on to for splits training or Y splits. Good to practice squats with too as you have something to hold on to. So if you're on the fence about purchasing because you don't think you'll use it for "pole dancing" as much as you like, know that it is versatile for other workouts! The only dislike for me is the fact that it's stainless steel so grip is not as good as if it were a chrome or other metal. It can be slippery and took a few months of use for mine to get grippy enough to be similar to the poles at the studio I go to. Always wipe it down with alcohol and get yourself some hand grip for extra grip during use. 5Sturdy, great brand option on a budgetI purchased this dance pole about 6 months ago, and it's still going strong! Have assembled and disassembled at least a dozen times, and it has remained in good shape. Has been used for both casual parties and my own personal workout sessions. Just Fyi, The pole must be aligned straight up and down or else it may shift or tilt the slightest bit when doing inverted flips and other tricks. Also, im still figuring out the spin setting which isn't as smooth a rotation as I'd hoped. But these things may simply just be user error. I'm 5'6", about 120 pounds, intermediate level pole dancer and I have never felt unsafe when using this pole for my tricks and spins. It's ALL about proper setup. I plan to order a second one soon! 5Main joint pops out of alignment after 6 weeks of use***Was given replacement!!After using this pole for 6 weeks, the main joint (where pole A joins with pole B) gave out. The pole was installed per instructions, on a flat concrete floor, pushed up against a flat ceiling, under a ceiling joist. We made sure the pole was level before it was fitted in place, so I doubt the failure was due to improper installation. I will say that the pole never once budged from the floor or ceiling and felt entirely safe. Even with the joint popping out of place, it still feels safe, but is no fun to use anymore. I only weigh 160, so I don't think I'm too heavy for this pole. I heard the first pop and noticed a problem when I was positioned with the top part of the pole in the pit of my arm, with the bottom part of the pole squeezed between my knees. It seems I applied too much pressure simultaneously on the two ends of the pole at one time. Maybe it was due to a weak part of metal at the joint, I'm not sure. I haven't taken the pole down yet, but when I do, if I can see a defect, I will update this review. I'm pretty bummed. I really loved this pole and had so much fun on it. Now, I'm researching a different, more sturdy pole to replace it with. It seems I'll have to go with the expensive, designer pole that everyone says you should get. That pole does not screw at the joints, but uses a special metal brace inside the pole to hold it together. So, looks like it will cost me $300 to keep getting my pole addiction fix. I wish I'd just shelled out that money to begin with instead of losing out the money for this pole. Live and learn. I hope my new expensive pole lives up to my expectations better than this one.*********UPDATE 2/7/19: I was contacted here on Amazon by a Megabrand representative who offered to replace my defective part (Turned out to be pole A)- A year went by and I hadn't noticed the offer but when I did, I decided to reach out and see if the company would still honor that AND THEY DID. Thru email, we figured out which part failed and they sent me a replacement free of charge. Not many sellers these days stand behind their product, but they did, and I'm truly grateful. Thank you, Megabrand. My replacement part did the trick and I'm back at my sport!! I can't thank you enough. 5Great spin pole! but static doesn't stay lockedI've owned this pole for a little over a year. I'm breaking my review into several sections: installation, packaging, use.Installation:I take my pole down frequently as it is in my guest room and pole sport is more of a "secret" hobby of mine.Once I figured out installation, it's actually a breeze to take down, take apart, and hide in the back of my closet. It comes in sections so it gets very compact. It takes about 5 minutes to put up and take down each time, now that I'm used to it. However I will say the instructions provided with the unit and found online are very unclear, but I eventually figured it out on my own.It doesn't even leave a mark on my ceiling but it does leave a bit of an imprint on the rug which it sits on. But that only lasts a few days and then the rug "relaxes" and it's back to normal.PackagingThe box it arrived in was very discreet, had no mention of "pole" , "dance", "stripper" etc. Just "mega".GripI use this pole frequently! About 2-3 times per week. Straight out of the box the finish was so slick that I had to use extra grip aid (dry hands, tac, etc). I was hoping that over time, I would "break in" the pole and the finish might become a little rougher so I could hold on with less grip aid, but it's been over a year of frequent use and it's just as slick as it ever was. It has not even dulled one bit still super shiny. Not complaining! But don't be surprised if this feels way more slick than any poles at a studio (where dozens of people dance on the poles all day, for example)Spin/staticI prefer the spin option and it turns on a dime. In fact sometimes I really have to control my movements because this pole spins a LOT easier than the ones at my studio. I would prefer to have a extra-spinny pole so I don't have the dreaded loss of momentum in the middle of a combo. But I have to be aware of the spin difference between my home pole and the poles at the studio. Here is the biggest con for me:The static does not stay put! No matter how hard I tighten the bottom bolts. I can lock the pole to static and do some basic stuff, but doing a snakecharmer on this pole will immediately loosen it. I can't even do a chair spin without the static coming loose. If it wasn't for the slipping static, I would rate this pole 5 stars. Still, at this price, worth every penny. 4Worth it. Safe. Works on carpet and popcorn ceiling.I anticipated my pole coming in. For a beginner I was not sure how I would enjoy it but I can't keep my hands and my body off it. Its very sturdy and easy to put together (I suggest using a friend but you don't need to). If your pole arrives without the installation dvd the same video is available on youtube. It supports my weight and I feel safe(and I weight more than what the little adult novelty store poles can hold...wayy more). I think I read it can hold up to 440lbs so it is a relief. I live in an older apartment building so I have popcorn ceilings and carpet, works great. They recommend using a stud finder but I didn't have one nor knew how to use it but I don't think there are any weak spots in my ceiling to cause damage (concrete slabs above and below my apartment). WORTH THE MONEY!!!Beginners error: I did not buy and grip aid with it but I'm going out and getting some now. BUY IT...it will help lol. Also with mine, the top screw won't screw in all the way (see photo) but from what I can tell, it does not effect the safety nor sturdiness of the pole. Buy it. Great pole. Worth the money. 5Great Buy for XPole lovers! Super similar.Great buy. I am an XPole girl but currently don't have the funds to buy the one I prefer from their inventory, so I checked Amazon and could tell by the description that this pole was extremely similar. I do prefer a 50mm, but settled for this 45 because of the price and availability. The set up is super easy if you're familiar with pole assembly. I did it alone in about 20 minutes tops. There are YouTube videos you van watch, or watch the DVD manual that it comes with. The pole extensions are great for height adjustment and the pole itself has great spin and structure. Would definitely buy again. The only downside is it doesn't come with a carrying bag so I had to use my old XPole bag and that works! 5Ok, I changed my mind, I actually love itI was very very agrivated about the ordeal I had been put through with ups, and feel that I had a biased opinion of it based on that. Now I can't lie and say the pole is perfect. I almost stripped the screws in the extender cover with the tools they provided, but after I got my own screwdriver it was fine. The screws will also not thread through the cover into the flange nut when installed, so I am not able to use that cover, but honestly that doesn't bother me as bad as I thought it would. I get really nit picky about things like that usually, which tells me it really doesn't look bad without it (my feelings on this could also be due to the fact that I am not willing to have a 3 week fight with ups just to ship it back and wait for another to be shipped to me). I was also really worried that it wasn't stable. However, I didn't have it installed correctly. If the dome moves at all its not properly installed. Once i got it straight it hasn't moved since. As bad as I hate to share this information, as a big woman I was worried about this supporting my weight. I am 249 pounds and it is fine with me climbing and spinning on it. I have bought more expensive poles that were not near at sturdy, and that was at a lower weight. 4Defect in the metal above the jointI am an Intermediate / Advanced Pole fitness / dancer and I purchased this pole November 2014 for my home. The installation was easy, looks great and its sturdy. This pole stays in place and has never been taken down. I use this pole about 5hrs a week doing more climbs and inverts then spins. I go to do a shoulder mount (standing in front of the pole with hands above your head, one hand on top of the other, grabbing the pole) and my hand was sliced deep from a razor like part on the pole about 1/4in above the joint where the pole screws together. NOT GOOD! If I was a little taller, it would have sliced my shoulder bad instead of my hand. Typically, this or any other pole, is smooth so you can slide down the pole. There should be no rough or sharp spots.I contacted Amazon and the company responded to them saying there is only a 30day warranty. REALLY? This is a manufacture defect. Metal is not supposed to separate. Again, this WAS NOT at the joint, it was ABOVE the joint. Other then it looked classy in my house, easy installation....... I wouldn't recommend buying this pole. Spend a few hundred and get a good quality pole or at least one with a warranty on their parts. 1
