Great lightweight backpack for day hikes.This bag is amazingly lightweight. I would use canvas backpacks which added to the weight while hiking. It also has 2 pockets for water on each side. This is so light and ideal for hiking. It's sturdy and folds into itself when not in use. My friend was jealous after she had spent $60 at Macy's on a bag. And she liked this bag better. There's a place for a water bottle on the outside where it's easy to access without taking the pack off. Plenty of room for souvenirs. I'm almost 70 and this pack is very easy to get on and off, and even loaded down the weight is distributed nicely. The backpack itself is very lightweight and folds up into the inside pocket. It weighs next to nothing in my suitcase where every ounce counts. If you put wet clothes in it, it will not stay wet for long when you remove them. It s also great to take on the plane. It s very thin and can squish down under the seat. It is a great day pack for walking through the city because it is so light weight you don t have so much weight on your back, just whatever you put in it. I ve taken it to London and I ve taken it to the Caribbean. I just bought a new one to take with me to Europe. My first one, that I took to the Caribbean three years ago, is the one that I use on a daily basis for work. They are very durable. They are also washable. I put my daily one into the washing machine once a month, in a garment bag because of the straps. Nothing is wrong, structurally, with either of my first two. I bought a third one because I spilled ink all over my second one.
