Fantastic SocksI love these socks! I actually was in the Army but I never liked wearing the crappy socks we were issued and being a cheap E3 I didn't think it would be worth the extra money for socks like these. Ironically enough, now that Ive left the service I wear boots more than I did when I was in (western type boots and work boots) and so Ive been looking for good socks. I bought cheap athletic socks and some Wolverine brand socks. The athletic socks were actually alright with boots but the Wolverine brand socks straight up suck. After trying those I decided to order these and WOW they are fantastic!They feel fine, they completely end all rubbing. Even if a lace comes undone (or in western boots) I can walk without worrying that my feet will get hotspots or blisters. The only con is the price but if life has taught me anything about quality its Buy Once Cry Once. Ill definitely be buying more in the near future. 5It s like walking on a cloudThese socks are amazing! I have an issue with my military issued steel toe boots hurting my feet. I m a technician so I have to wear these in the shop. I figured it was something I d have to live with well not with these socks. I wore my boots all day on my 10hour work day and at the end of the day I had no my in my feet at all. I didn t think such a thing was possible. And they fit my feet and calves well. I ve bought products like under armor which fit big and they squeezed my lower calves and made wearing them a hassle. I would recomment these to anyone. Definitely worth the price. 5Great socks for civilians and military!If you're looking for great socks get these.I'm in the military and as a result need socks that go above and beyond keeping my shoes from smelling. These fit that bill and then some. They're comfortable, they provide good support, and even look nice.One of the things I really like though, and this is kind of gross, but they can be worn a few days without washing. I know, fresh socks are important, but sometimes you're out in the field and you don't have access to laundry. These socks are so awesome that you can keep them on for a couple days before you really have to worry about smells, or disease etc. That being said, there is nothing like putting on a fresh pair of these bad boys every day.Get these socks. 5Over the calf and so comfy!I wear these boot socks (and work boots) 10 hours a day, 5 days a week. I'm pretty easy-going but good socks are hard to find. I don't like to feel toe seems and I don't like the top of the sock to dig into my middle calf. The very first time I put on the socks I was impressed with how comfortable they were and how they are high enough to go over my car off. I wear them all day long and I don't think about them. After all, who wants to think about their socks? I like them so much, I ordered a couple more pair and will start to throw out my old socks that are getting thin in the toes and the heel. 5Nice SocksGreat socks. Padded in all the right areas. I tried other socks. Bought one pair at a time. After I tried these I bought 3 more pair. These socks are thicker than a good white sports sock, which is what I needed. These were for cowboy boots. I have a narrow foot which is not good for cowboy boots. I could not go a half size down in boot size so it needed to be made up in the width. These socks made my cowboy boots perfect. Bought the coyote brown and the green. These are the exact same socks but the green cost more?? Makes no sense but I wanted both colors. These socks seem to work good in warm and cool weather. If I had of bought these socks first I would have saved enough money to buy a few more pair of these. I have washed these several times and only shrinkage was in length up calf and maybe just an half inch. Not a problem. They say mid-calf but these go to the top of my calf and don't fall down. They appear to be very durable and if or when I need new ones, I will be buying these again. Hope this helps clear up some of your questions when looking for a higher priced sock and not do what I did the first few times. 5Blister free!!!!New to rucking and preparing for OCS. GySgt told me Just buy the standard issue socks (by DLA). Worst piece of advice I ever took. Suffered in agony through 7 mile ruck run (5 min run/5 min walk) and had blisters by mile 2 or 3. Dared not take off my boots. When we finished my heels had larger than golfball blisters that were raw and open, not to mention other more tolerable blisters everywhere else. Tried nylon liner sock but that bunched up and gave me blisters as well. Acrylic socks didn t fit as well and could feel it slide as I just went on a walk. Moleskin was good for protection, but the real answer were these socks. 6 mile ruck run today in them with no moleskin, just some foot powder, and NO BLISTERS. HALLELUJAH! Thank the Fox River gods for blessing my feet. 5I am not disappointed! I rotate 3 pairs of socks 7 days ...After reading the positive reviews, I gave these socks a chance. I am not disappointed! I rotate 3 pairs of socks 7 days a week. After 60 days of use, there is no noticeable wear on these socks. Only downside is that they are a little warm, but not enough to outweigh the benefits of durability. I will buy this brand from now on. The socks I used to buy at the exchange were cheaper, but they lasted on 6 months. I believe these will last at least a year. The price is steep, but when you account for the length of time they last, they are worth it (and maybe cheaper depending on your frequency). Great product. 5Great boot socksAnyone who has been on a ruck march knows that a good pair of socks can make a huge difference. These socks are great if you don t want blisters but do want a little bit of extra cushion. 5Mid-calf sock needs more compression to stay upThe sock is, to my eye / foot, nicely padded around the foot and ankle with a light padding going up the shin. I really like this Coyote Brown color and the black stripes give them a really nice look. They are comfortable on hikes of 7 - 10 miles and kept my feet warm while the temperatures were in the 30's and above. The only thing that stops me from giving these a 5 Star rating is that these mid=calf socks do not stay up during normal walking. They tend to sag into the height of a crew sock but it still remains comfortable around the calves and shins.If the stocks staying up are important, their (Fox River) Over The Calf socks definitely stay up even when over a thermal layer.I chose the Fox River brand based on some of the other reviewers comments and they've proven accurate. These socks are comfortable, durable and a great value. 4OCS ApprovedBought five pairs of these before going to Marine Corps OCS. They held up great and protected my feet well even when being worn with boots that were in the process of being broken in. The socks grip your feet and don't slide around (assuming you get the right size), although I did find they didn't grip the upper calf well and could slide down, but that may have been because of boot bands. Overall I highly recommend these to wear with boots, especially military style boots. A few people didn't bring boot cushioned socks and instead wore the issued socks (which are horrible: no boot cushion and a cotton blend), and their feet payed the price (blisters, blood blisters, infected blisters, rashes, etc). If your goal is to take good care of your feet, these will surely help. 5
