    Beware sizingI just got a pair to replace a set of blue Zoomers that I had had for 10 years (!), with regular year round swimming. I had to move up one size (from D in the blue version to E in the new yellow). This was especially surprising because, in theory, my size should be right in the middle of the D range (women's 7-7.5; D theoretically fits women's 6.5-8). Moreover, even with the E, the fins are very tight across the instep. On the other hand, the redesigned profile seems to add greater power to my kick. I felt a real difference from lap one. Some reviews mention a smell. I am scent sensitive, but did not experience this. I count myself lucky, I guess. They may have had some off batches. 3Great for swimming laps!I bought these to use in the pool to get more resistance when swimming laps. They are soft and supple, don't rub my feet, and really help work those leg muscles. The short fin makes them easy to pack in my gym bag. I wear a women's size 8 wide, have a high arch, and the E fits perfectly. 5Zoom zoom down the poolI can't live without a pool (I try for it every day)-- I wouldn't be without my zoomers which I've been using for over 25 years since I lived in Palo Alto/Sunnyvale area. These are fins designed for pool exercise; they're rigid and strengthen my muscles, I believe. I have had two knee replacements, so I can't kick very well and the zoomers help me a lot.I go to the deep end, 6 to 8 feet, and just move my legs back and forth in a scissor-like motion. My two knees are doing great--one is going to be 20 years old next year and the other is 14 years old. Both done in California and I think because of my pool exercises with my zoomers, I can get up from the floor if I fall or purposely get on floor. For instance, I can get in and out of bathtub more or less with ease--my legs feel very strong--other people have not had the luck but I say it's hard work and I thank the zoomers. 5Runs SmallSize F Runs small, I wear a size 10 in womens and 8 1/2 in mens hiking boots and have worn the same size for over 30 years. I ordered one size up (F) after reading the reviews which is 9-10 in mens according to the box. These things are so tight it pinches the skin on the top of my feet and my toes stick out past the end of the toe box, they are also narrow and make my toes overlap. Very uncomfortable. I've included a picture to show you what I mean. 1Fix my formThere is a lot of talk and a lot of products for swimmers to improve technique. Kick boards, hand paddles, snorkel, buoyancy noodles, bungee cords, etc. All of these products help in diffrent ways but can also hinder you if not used carefully. This product makes it easier to stay buoyant while focusing on breathing, arm techinque, etc. I am 5' 10" 168 lbs so my lower body immediately sinks. With this product I can float with much less effort and improve technique. In 3 months of swimming almost daily I went from "about to die" after 100 yards to swimming 2200 yards (1.5 miles) in one workout. This product, if not carefully regulated can be a crutch. Put these on and my 25 yard time goes down by avg 8 seconds. Not that fun to swim 25 second lengh only to go to 31-33 seconds with bare feet. I alternate one day with fins 1 day without. That helps. I enjoy my day with them better. I feel like a little fishy. Another little thing worth mentioning is they were rubbing at the base of my great toe nail eroding the skin. I solved that problem by wearing socks with them. I look a bit weird in a white brief cut speedo black socks and yellow fins but its worth it. Kinda 5Good, Heavy, Strong Fins, but be careful with Size and FrictionI purchased the Finis Yellow Zoomers Gold to help me strengthen my Swimming Skills and Leg Muscles in the water along with other bits from the same Finis training tools. Based on the reviews that was a good choice and I made the right decision.Observations:Blades are Stiffness and heavy.Heel comfortable and natural curve with foots heel, easy to slip foot in.I Select Size H as I use Size 12 US shoe Size / 11 AUS and it fits perfectly. Going smaller would not have been a good idea.But, there is a small issues, as I have seen other complain about it, well it happened to me, one of my toes suffered from a bad case of friction with the Blades and peeled the skin off of a small area enough to cause me to remove the Fins and try to do something about it. I ignored the friction in the beginning as I was exercising in the pool. I did some clean-up of the excess rubber and I think I resolved it. Looking at both the fins, they are made in my case from the same Mould as they had the same imperfections at the same location as shown in the images. Using a fin cutting sharp tool, I cleared the excess rubber and that solved the problem.Conclusion:Good, Heavy, Strong Fins., perfect Fit if you get the size correct, use swimming socks or make sure to minimize the friction between your feet/toes with the fins to avoid blisters and skin injuries. 4Great for casual beach swimming, too.I love these for the ocean beach. Comfortable and stay on. Snug, but you can still get sand coming in the toe. I think these fins must have a neutral density about like our own body, because they don't sink down, nor do they force my feet to float up, like some diving fins; they're just right. The fin part is short enough that (at the risk of looking silly) I can actually walk on the beach with them on if I keep my toes up a bit. When swimming, they give me that extra confidence that I can go faster, get out of a current, or dive longer. Just that bit of duck foot does the job! They have a little weight to them when carried, but not as heavy and awkward as diving fins. Try em! 5Great addition for swim workouts!Man I can tell the difference when swimming with these nifty fins. The added resistance gives your legs a great workout. With the fins, I alternate between regular swimming (the crawl) and laps with just a kickboard (an extra challenge). These fit true to size for me (woman's size 9 = E). I highly recommend them. I also use the Tribord snorkel mask and Sony Swim Walkman so my lap swimming workouts are truly a lot of fun! 5Use size chart from boxThe fins are great but the size chart in the product description is not very accurate - better to use the chart that comes on the box (see picture). 5they are interchangable (there is no L or R) They are perfect for practicing a shortZoomer Gold D I wear a women's size 8 in dress/casual shoes and wear a size 9, medium width, in running shoes. The Finis fins in Size D fit me perfectly. Snug, but not too tight. they are interchangable (there is no L or R) They are perfect for practicing a short, quick flutter kick. 5
