Customer Reviews

Pleasantly suprised, wrapped the velcro strap closer to my hand.I have always used hand wraps that are actual wraps, not gloves. I just like to use a heavy bag to work out, I am not any kind of professional fighter/boxer/MMA. I do hit pretty hard, at least what I consider to be hard because I have trouble with the bag and stand moving too much (the stand rocks back and forth and moves across the floor-100 pound bag on a heavy metal frame). I decided to try these because I somehow lost my wraps. When I first put them on, I did not feel like they were going to work for me. They didn't seem supportive or stabilizing. I decided to wrap the Velcro band up a little higher than where it sits naturally, closer to my hand on the part of my wrist that actually bends. I did about 15 minutes on the bag, and have no trouble now the day after. I am pleasantly surprised and I like these because I can just pull the boxing glove off and have free movement of my hands during breaks. Wraps do not allow that movement to open water bottles, change music, etc as freely. 5Good for wrist, bad for fistThese are better than a lot of similar products, but definitely fall short of traditional hand wraps. If I punch a heavy bag without wraps, I feel it in my wrists first. If I wear these, I feel it in my hand tendons instead. So the wrist support is helpful, but it doesn't do anything for compressing the hand when you clench a fist like traditional wraps do. I'll likely still use them occasionally on my non-wrap days to condition my hands. Overall it fell short of my expectations. 3Update: not durableUsing these as heavy bag gloves. But the bag I m using isn t exactly heavy. Anyways, they fit well-size large. 9 hands around knuckles and thumb to pinky. Only drawback so far is my wrists are a bit skinny, so the wrap is slightly loose, a little more support would be nice. Impact-wise they feel good.Update: after about 6 weeks of use, started to come apart at the seems. Not even daily use - 2-3x/week. Other reviews about poor durability seem to be accurate. 3Excellent Gloves, Highly Recommend! These are awesome, they're exactly like the ones at Dick's Sporting Goods. The back of my black ones had the Grey band like the other colors you see, and also have the Everlast Logos the same as the ones at Dick's. The only difference between these and the ones at Dick's are that these don't have the little hole in the palms. These have an inner velcro patch on the wrist to tighten the glove around your wrist, then it has the stretchable elastic band that wraps all the way around the wrist to your desired tightness and velcros down tight. They protect your knuckles from bleeding and the gel gives you just the right amount of padding, and the wrist strap gives you really a good wrap. It's not quite as solid as wrapping yourself the traditional way, but I feel confident punching as hard as I want to safely. These are quick on and off and unlike traditional wrapping they don't require further knuckle coverage. These are really great. These are great to have on hand for riots and street fights when wrapping takes too long and you need wrist support. 5A good product, but not a perfect substitute for traditional wraps. They are very comfortable, but are not a great substitute for traditional hand wraps. This is because normal handwraps don't rip from use the same way. In using these wraps for training instead of traditional wraps because of their gel, I found that after a few weeks they began to tear at the seams between the knuckles. They also ended up being a bit bigger than the size should have been. (I tried on a pair of the same size and color in a store and it fit far better than what I received from amazon)However, for the price, they're great. The wrist support is superb, and they go on quickly and easily compared to a 180in standard wrap. If you wear proper boxing gloves over them they should last and be great. 4Great Hand Wraps (much better than wrapping)I got these mainly for working with the heavy bag, but also for the occasional sparring. I am new to boxing and wanted something easier to use than the wraps that you have to wrap yourself. These seemed like a great alternative. I got the medium and they fit perfectly! They go on nice and snug and the Velcro holds the wrist nice and tight. It also adds extra cushioning around my knuckles which is great! They are very high quality and seem to be holding up perfectly (I use them in the Everlast Pro Style Training Gloves 16oz). The Velcro at the bottom can be pulled tight to easily ensure that the wrist stays in the proper position, and as long as you Velcro them straight you do not have an issue with the Velcro rubbing your wrist/arm. If you do not do it straight you will feel the edge rub your skin, but if you make sure it is straight it is a perfect fit and offers great support for your wrist, knuckles and hand in general.I am very happy with these! They are a great alternative to wrapping your hands manually, they fit great and as long as they are put on properly (Velcro is nice and straight) you do not have any rubbing. I highly recommend these for the support and comfort and mainly the convenience of not having to wrap your hands! Highly recommend!! --Also, to note, these are hand wraps, not boxing gloves, they are just an alternative to the long hand wraps that you wrap around and through your hands. These are not gloves and are to be worn under the gloves. 5Good Gel Hand WrapsThese gel hand wraps are great....sometimes I run late to practice and I don't have time to wrap my hands so I just slip these on. This is my 2nd pair; my first pair lasted a couple of years because of intermittent use with regular hand wraps. Two observations, 1) the sizing is not perfect for women's hands--I got a medium my first pair and they were a bit tight. This time I ordered a large and these are a bit loose, but it still works well inside my boxing gloves, 2) while the material is breathable, they retain an odor despite regular washing. I'll even spray something like Febreeze for clothes and it only helps a little. Overall, I prefer the Everlast hand gel wraps over some of the other available brands. 4Declining qualityI've been buying these wraps for years. I teach and train kickboxing 3-4 days a week so they get used, but they've started to fall apart fast and faster and this last pair ripped at the knuckle seams within a couple weeks. And not a small rip - I'm talking holes big enough that the stuffing is flying out during class. They're an inexpensive solution but these days you're getting what you pay for. 3NeverlastDespite the name "Everlast", these hand wraps don't last long enough. This is the 3rd pair I have bought during the last few years and it's the one that has lasted the least amount of time: exactly one year. They always break on the area of the knuckles of the 2nd and 4th fingers. The warranty isn't good enough because it only covers 120 days. Given the defect and the short warranty , I am going to explore other options. 1Still undecidedI bought these as I was getting tired of having to use hand wraps and all that's involved with that - washing, laying them out to air dry, rolling them back up. Then in using them, you, of course, have to wrap your hands with them, then unwrap and start the wash cycle all over. I was getting tired of that and wanted something quicker and more efficient. I do like these in that they are much quicker in putting on and off. I haven't washed them yet but that looks like it would be easy to do and let them air dry. My only factor as undecided is that I do believe my wrists get more support from the actual hand wraps instead of the gel gloves. I'm still using the gel gloves because they are easier but am still leaning towards better support with the actual hand wraps. I gave it 4 stars for that fact. I'm glad I did purchase these as I no longer have to constantly wash and lay out the other hand wraps. 4
