Customer Reviews

1yr of useThese are the best gloves I've ever owned. I've had them 1yr now. All others I've owned lasted a max of 3-6 months before falling apart. As a premise of use, I've missed 5days at the gym over the last yr. I bench 6 reps at 500lbs to end chest day. I put these through some intense lifting. They have well exceeded my expectations. I was originally concerned the finger straps wouldn't hold. I pull them off every day with them. Originally concerned about rubber sewn to leather, not only is it strong but still protective. These things r built to last. It will be my mission over the next yr to destroy them so I can get another pair, but we will see.5For anyone serious about lifting, these gloves are right for you!Bought these gloves for my husband for his fitness journey a year ago. He works almost everyday, and sometimes twice a day, while wearing these gloves. And he lifts heavy (sometimes very heavy) while working out.He loves these gloves and is constantly raving about them and their comfort, their grip, and even how easy they are to get off.He and I both would recommend these same workout gloves for anyone serious about working out. Pics of him with our family, using these gloves.5Improvement over my previous wrist-wrap glovesI've been using wrist-wrap gloves (Harbinger classics) for 20 years, and go through about three to four pair a year. I fractured a wrist about 15 years ago, so the wrist wrap feature is very important to me. I do a heavy upper-body workout three times a week. My comments here compare these gloves against the Harbinger Classic wrist-wrap gloves.Great features:1. Wrist wrap width. 2 Inches is fantastic and a step up from the Harbinger Classics.2. Palm padding: This feels better so far and seems to be superior to what I grew used to with Harbinger Classics. Those were not bad, but these are better.3. Finger quick-release tabs and strings (note: not the thumb quick release feature mentioned in "Others" below)4. The Velcro attachments on the wrist wraps are superior to the ones currently on Harbinger Classics. In addition, they have one that binds right at the wrist, then one that is at the end of the wrap. This allows for a better adjustment experience.5. Overall Fit: I used the sizing chart and it was good for getting the right size gloves for my palms. The gloves are snug overall, like I like them, with not too much play in the palms as I curl them."Not sure" features:1. Finger length. These are longer than with the Harbinger Classics, and cover up the knuckle completely. So far I haven't seen a problem with that, but it definitely gives a different feel when you grip. Nothing rubs or binds, and I think it is just something different that I have to get used to.2. Stitching. It appears to be quality double-stitching, but I won't be able to honestly compare them until I've put 2 to 3 months on them."Others"1. The quick release leather tap on the thumbs comes up and covers the thumb pad. While it works well to help get the glove off quickly, it gets in the way when you are doing hand weights (think curls) and can easily double over and excessive rub the base of the thumb. It can cause a thumb pinch and if nothing else gets you to drop your concentration while messing with it. I've decided after my second workout to simply cut this part off completely. The upper part of the thumb on the glove has a pocket for ease of removal anyway, so it won't be a big deal. This would have been a great feature if they had put the leather pull pad on the TOP of the thumb vice on the BOTTOM. That would be my major recommendation for a change to this glove.2. There are two little plastic triangles on the inner side edge of the gloves (visible in the picture) that only serve the purpose of holding the two gloves together if you want to do that. Perhaps they make it easier to hang up the pair in a store. They only get in the way at the gym, so I've removed those as well. They really are not needed.Overall I'm happy and impressed. I'll only make the minor alterations I mentioned above. I would give it 5 stars overall, but I will need time to adequately check out how the stitching and padding holds up.Update: I've used these gloves for over 4 months now, and they are still in great shape. I would have gone through at least one pair of Harbinger Classics by now. I have increased my review from 4 to 5 stars because of the durability. I could probably go a full year with this pair, but I'll order another on two months and use that as my primary heavy-day gloves, and the older pair for my light-day gloves. I highly recommend them if you need wrist support.Update 2: I've used these gloves for just over 7 months now, and the wear is starting to take its toll. Seams at the bottom of the palm of one glove have opened up, and a seam along the inside of the opposite glove has opened up as well. I'm probably going to give the another month, then re-order a new pair. They claim they last a full year, but I'm seeing about 8 months. Still, that's better than anything else I have ever had, so I will go for another pair. Still 5 stars in terms of performance in my opinion.5I waited to write this!As the title suggests, I waited 2 months to write this review.About myself and my workout habits: I workout/weightlift 5 days a weeks. 3+ of those days usually involve free weights in some capacity. Dumbells of 10 to 80+ lbs, bench press bars, tower bars etc. I am not a "bodybuilder" by any stretch but am definitely in good shape and will lift 1000's of lbs per session. The point of all of this is to relay the abuse I have given these gloves over the last couple months. Not only have they held up but they have exceeded my expectations by far! All of the threading, leather, padding and Velcro have held up solidly. I am certain I will be able to continue beating these to a pulp for a long time coming and based off of their performance thus far, will replace them with the same exact pair when the time comes.Things to be aware of: Please follow the sizing chart provided on their page, it is dead on. I thought I'd be a large but according them am an XL. The XLs fit me snuggly ( in a good way.)The padding on the palms will take a couple of sessions to break in. They are very robust pads, which are great for protecting your hands, but will make your grip feel funny. Only in the beginning though. The wrist strap really does provide great support, be careful not to overtighten! You can really wrench them down, again this is a good thing.Lastly, the loops and straps to help remove the gloves are quite helpful. I thought for sure they (at least one) would have broken by now but so far so good!I know there are a ton of choices out there, and a lot of good ones I'm sure, but be certain these will NOT disappoint. Great gloves and protection! I would 100% buy again and am sharing them with friends.Update: It's now 2/15/20, roughly 17 months after I purchased these. I've just added photos from today and am still using them with the same frequency. They've held up very solidly. Threading JUST started to separate a bit on left glove palm but I only notice when inspecting them, not during workout. I'm about to buy another pair just to have on hand. Again, this is a well built, very protective product that I'm happy to be using.5Perfect workout gloves! These gloves are amazing. Before I got these, I used cheap Gold's Gym gloves. The difference in feel, support, comfort and everything else is NIGHT AND DAY.5Replace for Harbinger Gloves? If you're like me you're looking for a replacement to your Harbinger gloves that just don't seem quite to last as long as they used to. Over the years I have been pretty loyal to their gloves since they were made with durability and would last throughout many workouts. Over the years the gloves that would last 6-12+ months, started to last 3-6 months, and then last year I normally had gloves tearing at seams within the first month and normally wearing down to the point of needing new gloves within 2-3 months again.I figured I would try to find a replacement and had tried a few on amazon with no luck. Luckily on my 4th try I came up these and I may have been converted.I could do without the the logos on the wrist wrap and text on the glove, but the actual durability and design of the glove are great. These have lasted about 3 months so far with almost no tears. I also really like the little pull tabs for removal. At first I thought they looked sort of tacky and might get in the way of mobility, etc but that has never been the case and they do make taking the gloves off easy; as I am sure anyone reading this probably has had that occasion after a good workout where the Harbinger glove literally flipped inside out removing it pulling it off by that wrist wrap.TLDR; These are my new go to gym glove over Harbinger.I'll update this in a few months and let you know if they made the pile of shame.5Comfortable, relieves pain, resulting in more frequent workouts!!I just received these yesterday and already have done one workout with my kettlebells. They are amazing, flexible, easy on and off and padded in just the right areas. My forefingers used to get bruised between knuckle and first joint (always seen the next day, along with joint stiffness and pain)... nothing today!! I feel I will be able to do more daily workouts (alternating exercises) now w/o the pain.5Still the best weight training gloves I have ever usedThis is a re-post of a review from at least a year ago. I just retired my first pair, put my second pair of these gloves into service, and ordered a bunch more. Here is why:I've been weight training for over 40 years, and have used half a dozen different brands of training gloves. The last brand I used for many years, but the quality of their products deteriorated, substituting mesh fabric for leather in so much of the glove that pulling on the most recent pair, the fabric tore out at the top of the wrist. Pulling them off was equally destructive, tearing out seams around fingers and thumbs, and when worn, the gloves traveled on my hands, not providing a firm or secure grip. I started looking for a different brand with higher-quality construction and found Grip Power Elite Leather Gym Gloves with built-in 2 inch wrist wraps.Grip Power's leather body construction gives the gloves a definite structure that conforms to one's individual hand, but provides a firm, secure grip (as advertised), with no travel or creeping while lifting. The palm and finger padding is well-placed, and provides a cushion under the bar, so that the grip is absolutely secure. I feel much more confident lifting in these gloves than I have felt in years.Pulling the gloves on and off is also much easier, thanks to the clever addition of pull tabs on the fingers -- which BTW do not interfere with lifting in any way. The gloves also have handy clips to pair them for trips to & from the gym. Pulling the gloves on is facilitated by the substantial wrist wraps, as well as the all-leather construction on the back of the hand. They are durable, secure, easy to use, and reliable. After two months of daily use, they still look and feel like they are brand new.Having searched extensively and tried a number of products, I believe that Grip Power Pads Elite Leather Gym Gloves are the best weight-training gloves on the market. I would encourage anyone serious about weight training to give them a try.5Great Gloves, but.....I have been using these gloves for approximately six months now.The good...The gloves/grip are high quality. I lift heavy at least five days of each week, and the gloves have not broken down in any way. I love the ease of putting them on and taking them off with the assistance loops between the fingers. The seams and stitching have all held up well. The bad....One thing and one thing only; the velcro on the wrist strap is off very poor quality. I find myself constantly wrapping my wrists or placing rubber bands over the straps to assist the velcro in holding its grip under load. If these gloves came with a more hearty velcro, then my rating would have definitely been five stars. Due to the constant headache of having the wrist strap unravel during a lift because the velcro wouldn't hold its grip, I can't give the gloves any more than three stars. All in all, unless the velcro is upgraded, I would not purchase these again nor would I recommend them to fellow lifters.3Extra Padding and Glove Strength Leads to More ConfidenceHave been using another manufacturer's gloves for 15 years, buying a pair every 6 months since they wear out fast, so I decided to pay more and try these "Power Pads."Used them this past weekend during 6 exercises that usually take a toll on your hands:1) Lat pull-down (140 pounds)2) Rowing (150 pounds)3) Chest push (90 pounds)4) Shoulder push downs (140 pounds)5) Dips (180 pounds - 20 pound assist)6) Curls (70 pounds)I was pleased with the gloves extra padding and on the fingers and palm of the hand, along with the strength of the leather. Each bar felt secure in my hand which made me confident. Compared to the previous gloves I've used from other manufacturers, I found these gloves enabled me to lift greater weight and do more reps. Worth the extra cost since they'll also last longer.5
