    Great deal!I have been riding with Candy's since I discovered them but usually bought a complete pedal set to get new cleats until I found this deal on Amazon, I bought two sets. I wished the alloy used was harder, you don't replace spd cleats nearly as often but I prefer Crank Brothers so what are you going to do...buy cleats a bit mor often! 5No Short ScrewsManual says long and short screws are provided. Not. Only the long screws were there that I couldn't use. Fortunately the short screws that came with my worn non-premium cleats were not completely busted over the years so I could reuse them. So much for "premium cleats". Knock one star off. But once installed they do work as advertised. And yes, I'm a CB fan. 4Not original ones, does not work well, do not buy!Made the mistake to order two pairs based on the good reviews, but the cleats are not the original ones and did not work:- Cleats arrived in simple plastic box, no Crank Brothers packaging. (Did not mind this/was not suspicious.)- Included hex key does not work for the provided screws.- There were two right-side cleats in both packages I got. I only figured out after installing a set on my earlier shoes and not being able to unclip easily with the left foot even after wearing them for a couple of hours. When I got home, I compared to the original Crank Brothers cleats I have on my other shoes and I realized this.- Material/color of the cleats is also a bit off.Truly disappointing! 1Super soft bolts!!!Purchased a new set of these for a new pair of shoes. Installed them w/ shims, turns out I don t need shims. First bolt I go to losen strips and my 4mm t handle pops out. I go at it again and strips further. Long story short I m on the phone w/ CB who are super helpful and advise me to drill out the bolt head. I go to drill and in doing so the pressure from the drilling has created a dimple on the inside of my show now.... I m now thinking these shoes are ruened all due to a stripped hex bolt... a little bummed. 2Premium CleatsThe cleats fit the Crank Bros Egg Beater pedals just as advertised and last for a few years before needing to be replaced due to wear & tear under lots of terrain and conditions. 5These cleats are the best option for Crank Brothers pedalsThese cleats are the best option for Crank Brothers pedals, but wear out quickly and should ship with the stainless shoe shields Crank Brothers 151170 Bicycle Shoe Shield.The design of the pedals puts the pressure on the sole of the shoe allowing the bars to wear into the plastic. The stainless shoe shields help, but work best if you use them from the beginning. 3I ve liked them a lotThese were my introduction into the world of clipless pedals. I ve liked them a lot... the problem is that I tried some Shimano pedals and cleats. These hold onto the pedals really well, and require a healthy twist to get unlocked...I ve often learned the joys of not getting clipped out in time, ending up with raspberries on my knees and elbows. On the upside, if you get these down, the Shimanos are a cinch! 4SolidCleats are cleats--but that being said, I still worry when buying new cleats whether I would experience the rare 'impossible disengagement at the stoplight' condition. Fortunately, they were good right out of the box. I wore them during the Fall CicLAvia in DTLA; never fell once. 4Not great for Eggbeater 1 pedalsI have an old pair of Eggbeater 1 pedals that I have loved for many miles. They're getting a little rusty but still work great. The cleats that cam with them allowed good contact with the shoe - no extra space between pedal wings and sole of shoe. But my good old cleats have worn out (mostly by too much walking on them). So, got these new cleats. Although Crank Brothers says they're compatible with Eggbeater pedals (without saying which models), these cleats seem to allow more space between the pedal and the shoe. This makes for a sloppy connection to the pedal. I see that the EB 2 pedals accommodate "contact sleeves" to solve this problem, but not so for good old EB 1's. If anybody has a suggestion to solve this I'd be grateful to hear it. 3They workWalking on pavement scratches/gouges them up easily. asphalt would scratch up any cleats, but considering how warn they were after only a couple of uses. Literally two. Seems like I should have gotten a few more uses out of them before they were so badly gouged up. However, I stopped using them more because I didn't like the eggbeater type pedals. 3
