    No good for threaded barI bought these to see if they would work well enough on a threaded bar so I wouldn't have to mess with the star nut on my standard weights. I can't fault the product, but the answer is no. If anyone else is curious, this won't work for that. They fit well on my one inch bar, but I don't really use that one. Honestly, I've never used these clamps since they didn't work for my threaded dumbbells. Again, not a knock on the product. I added them to another purchase just to try out. Didn't work for that. 4Decent quality but didn't work with my bars.The quality of the clips is fine. Unfortunately for me, they are slightly too large for my 1" standard bars (both barbell and dumbbell) and slip off too easily. I have "gold's gym" dumbbell handles and a 72" "fitness gear" brand bar from Dick's. All the bars came with spin-locks that work fine, but I wanted some spring clips to make it easy and quick to add/subtract plates during my workout. I have tried Weiders clips from Sears, Fitness gear clips from Dick's, and these CAP clips from Amazon. All are too big. I have read reviews from spring clip users who have clips that work with threaded bars, but I guess my bars are all slightly undersized. My work-around is to wrap a little duct tape around the clip, and now they work fine, but it's not a very elegant solution. I'll just live with it because I'm not going to replace all my equipment just so it fits spring clips. 4not true 1" - slightly over.Unfortunately is is slightly larger than one inch.It will not clinch on the 1" barbell - we had to resort to look at mm sized clamps instead.25mm is slightly larger than 1".If you are looking for something that is exactly 1", look for something under 25mm. 2Perfect fit for a 1-inch barThe CAP Barbell 1-inch clip works very well with my 1-inch bar. There was one reviewer who claimed that it was too big for his 1-inch bar, and even had pictures displaying his long thumbnail, which needed clipping. Anyway, I hope that reviewer got his fingernails clipped and a working bar clip. 5One Star AMAZON..Bait & Switched their suppliersI have ordered 2 other sets of the same item in the past. Both fit onto my 1" bars easily & snugly. This last pair..doesn't open wide enough to slip on the bars easily at all. Maybe a metric measurement not really 1" ? Also, in the past orders Amazon sourced these in the US as advertised. This time they came from VietNam, through China. Customs involved etc. Took over a month to arrive. Not the suppliers fault as they can't control the speed at which customs processes packages. AMAZON..I call bs on this one..bait & switch supply. Never again 1Good stuff.These were perfect. an absolutely great price, I purchased 8 to secure the front and back of be weights I used on my squat bar. It s a great solution if you buy the wrong weights like I did and they are a little top bar for the bar. These keep them very secure and from falling off. 5Poor fit on 1" factory bars.These did not fit any of my 1" weight bars. They do fit perfectly on my homemade barbell bars. I made them from pieces of 3/4" black iron gas pipe. just sand off the black coating and they're a perfect fit. I use them with up to 120 pounds doing one arm rows and they have not slipped a bit. 3DefectiveTried to use these on my 1-inch barbell. One side fit semi-securely, the other side slid right off. To verify that the barbell itself wasn't warped, I grabbed another set of 1-inch clips I had laying around, and those fit securely.I'm going to go out on a limb and assume I just got a defective set. Still, not worth the gamble to reorder, and not worth the hassle to send back. I'll just go with another brand next time around. 2Does not hold strong enough - weights slip offThese clamps worked well initially, but after a few months of use, they began to slip with only as little as a 10 lb plate on them. I can't swing my weights up without being very careful not to hold them vertically, for fear of the weights slipping off. 1Threaded bar peeps, read this!i know the description states clearly these are not designed for threaded bars, but i bought them anyway with fingers crossed. unfortunately, they really are too big for the threaded standard bar. what i did though is simply attach a somewhat thick zip tie through each one. now it works because the diameter of the clip is slightly smaller due to the zip tie. it looks a bit funky and sometimes i have to adjust the zip tie around so the clip will slide over the threads more easily, but once i've released the tension on the clip it holds my weights in place just fine. it's certainly not perfect, but it sure beats spending 2 or more minutes spinning those stupid spin lock collars every time i want to switch out my weights!! i know this is not an ideal fix, but i thought i would share how i rigged mine up to work for me in case it helps give you an idea of how to also make it work for you! i personally just absolutely refuse to use those spin lock collars anymore. i switch my weights up multiple times during most of my workouts and those spinners are way too time consuming. your muscles have frozen over by the time you've changed weights! lol 4
