So Far So GoodI purchased this cooler to use on long motorcycle rides. It's nice to be able to just pull over and have cold water right then instead of having to wait to find a store that sells cold water. However before just blindly filling it I decided to do some testing.I purchased two Blue Ice Packs from Home Depot put them in the freezer over night. At the same time I placed five 20 oz bottle of water in the refrigerator.The next morning I put the packs along the two long sides and placed the water between them with one on top. I attached the bag on the luggage rack of my bike and left it in the sun all morning. I then went riding in 100 deg heat. After a couple of hours I found the water still very cold. I left the cooler on the bike and placed it in the garage.The next morning was a bit cooler and after a couple of hours riding in 85-90 deg heat I found the gel packs 90% frozen and the waters still cold. The cooler is still on the bike sitting in the sun and I fully expect to find the gel packs partially frozen and the water cold when I put the bike in the garage tonight.I would recommend this cooler IF the Blue Gel Packs are used. I've never tried just ice.Please Note: This review is for the 12 can sized cooler.The sole reason that I didn't give the cooler 5 stars is because I haven't used it long enough to comment on it's durability.UPDATE:I rode in 100-107 degree weather for a full days ride (8 hours or more) many times on my 3500 mile ride on my Harley and by the end of the day the ice pack were still very much frozen and my water bottles icy cold!This is a great soft sided ice chest. 5Pretty Handy, but 36 can is too large. Go smallerI got the red version, 36 can size. This thing is huge. Fully loaded with ice, drinks, and food, it can be a beast to handle. At that point it kind of needs side handles.To keep it cold inside you need to have the sides clipped as shown in the picture, and it makes it harder to find stuff that you want when it's fully loaded. You'll need to pack the thing accordingly.I have had ice stay in this for 2.5 days, albeit very little ice is left at that point. No water leaks from it whatsoever which is very handy. It comes with some side pouches that are pretty tough to fit anything in when it's loaded down. I basically slid some koozys in there, and thats all I could fit.This 36 can size is basically as big as a 40-45 quart hard cooler, so by that point you are losing versatility. I would recommend to all to go with the 24 can or smaller, as those help you retain ease-of-use and carrying.I've read some websites where this was the top rated soft cooler, so from that literature and my personal experience with it, I would recommend this to others. 4Buy this you will not be disappointedThis thing is awesome In the picture , I've got in my AO cooler: two 12 packs, a bottle of wine, and a 16 pound bag of ice. I use it more than I do my yeti cooler at a fraction of the cost 5Best Cooler I've ever ownedI carry this 24-can cooler on the back of my motorcycle. I live in southern Arizona. This cooler easily keeps my beverages cold for days even on the back of the bike.Once, up in Colorado, we stopped at a store to buy adult beverages and some more ice on the way into our campground. By the time we got our tents setup and we pulled out the adult beverages they had ice in them. I kid you not. This cooler rocks.This year I really don't have the room for the 24-can cooler so I'm back checking to see if they have a smaller one. I will not hesitate to buy this cooler.We take it everywhere and don't even touch our hard coolers any more. They are not as good as this one.But it, you will love it. 5One Month Rating: FANTASTIC PRODUCTI bought this soft cooler as I needed something that I would be able to keep in the hot car all day while keeping fruit throughout the day. I bought this along with a couple of Arctic Ice Chillin Brew series that I use in conjunction with some other frozen bags I have. I had a 96 degree day recently which this bag had to stay in the car all day. I packed up the pre-cooled bag around 4am with the ice packs and fruit. With it being opened several times throughout the day, I went to eat some cubed watermelon that I had in the bag, at around 6pm and the watermelon was still so cold that I had to give it some time because it was difficult to eat. A bottle of OJ put in there around 11am was icy cold when I got home at 7pm.A couple of things with this bag. Research how to get the most out of the bag and heed that advice. Steps like refrigerating the bag overnight before you want to use it might seem trivial but really do make a real world impact. Figure out the best ways to configure the ice. Hot air rises, even inside of a cooler; so pack the ice accordingly so that items near the top aren't warm with other items frozen on the bottom.This has unexpectedly become one of those products that I didn't know that I would love until it repeatedly has blown me away with keeping items cold. I don't know but I can't imagine a Yeti product providing more than double the value of this brand of cooler bag.If I wanted to and throw a con out there I would say that the logo could use some work and definitely has a long way to go to inspire the kind of lifestyle that I think a product like this is geared toward. When I see it it seems like a logo of a company that sells industrial shelving or metal. All of this is completely extraneous to the fact that this product is fantastic; both in performance and in value when compared to market competition.If you need a cooler like this you should be quite happy with this product; you might even find yourself blown away. 5Amazing cooler!This cooler kept a month's worth of my breast milk frozen during a move from the U.S. to South Africa which lasted about 3 days. I didn't lose any of the milk and I am so thankful for this cooler. Can't sing its praises enough! 5Yeti Killer- Just Buy ItThe small is big enough to hold, as pictured; a small blender bottle, Powerade, water bottle, tin can of almonds, 3 tiny oranges, 2 hard boiled eggs, Costco bag of jerky, tray of apple baby food and a medium arctic ice tundra ice pack. If left in the shade or an A/C room, the bag will keep cold the contents for a solid 2 days. For drinks with ice and ice packs, water will remain cold for 3, maybe 4 days. I did a ton of research prior to purchase and I d reccomend a buy. Be careful if using the ice pack mentioned as it freezes contents easily. To combat this, I ve begun wrapping the ice pack in a dish towel. 5DefectiveThe cooling capability seems fine. But for $60, I expected MUCH more from the bag! Haven't carried it ONCE! Packed it for a car trip, went to pick it up, and the buckle broke, detaching from itself and freeing the zipper track. Huge defect. Very unhappy. :( 1Fantastic for toting breast milkUsed this cooler to tote breast milk from a week long overseas business trip.Ice retention - I was very impressed. after 19 hours door to door (or rather fridge to fridge), everything had stayed solid frozen. I paired it with two cooler shock gel packs on either side.Sizing - This size is perfect for 1 week of breast milk. Anymore you ll have to opt for the next size up.Transportation - I checked it in as a check in luggage by itself and just requested the airline to tag it as fragile . Arrived in perfect shape. Because the lining is so thick and the canvas material highly durable, I feel it can handle the bumps of checking in luggage quite well.Overall very pleased with the purchase, serves my purpose perfectly. And it is not a 300 dollar yeti. Hope this is useful for other mamas :) 5Out performs costly competitorsI got this because my husband wanted a Yeti Hopper but I didn't want to spend the money on it. I thought, for the price this is worth trying, and if it's not great I can still use it as an insulated grocery bag. Well, it turns out it IS great. My husband primarily uses it to take ice packs for his crummy knees with him to ultimate frisbee games, where it's often left sitting in the sun for hours on end. In fact, yesterday he did just that, then brought it home and left it sitting open on the counter, and today it STILL has ice in it. Another fun story - on Saturday I took it to an outdoor party with a gallon bottle of sangria in it. The bottle came open, so the cooler itself was filled with sangria. I was worried it would leak, but it didn't, not a drop, and the cleanup was just as easy as rinsing it out and wiping it down. This little cooler is definitely a huge win! 5
